FAQ
Can I still register now that the program has already started?
Yes! Although you will not be eligible for the End-of-Summer prize raffle, you can still earn  stickers, activity badges, and
chances to win weekly prizes.

Why 20 minutes a day?

It may feel hard to find 20 minutes each day to read with your child, but the cost of not doing this is far too great. Children who read for just 20 minutes per day see 1.8 million words each year and have scores on standardized tests in the 90th percentile (because they have experienced so many words!). We, of course, encourage you and your child to read more than that if you are able.

What counts as reading?
You can read silently to yourself, read aloud to someone else, be read to, or listen to an audiobook. What you read can be a book, a magazine, a graphic novel - there are plenty of choices out there!

What if I don't have time to read a book to check off every activity to earn badges?
Not to worry; you can combine them. For example, you could "read a nonfiction book," "published in 2022" "at the library" aloud "to someone else," and check off every activity you need to earn the Reading Superhero Badge!

What is a StickTogether board?
Every week, you'll receive 1/2" square stickers in different colors as a reward for days read (20 for 7 days!). You'll then put the sticker on the board and help your fellow readers reveal the hidden mystery pixelated image. Click here to see one in action!

What if I miss a day? Will I lose out on all the rewards?
No. You'll still get some stickers for the StickTogether board, but not 20 of them, as you would if you completed all seven days in the week.

I forgot to log some of the days I read on Beanstack. Can I log them now?
Yes, but they will not count on the overall progress, so make sure you also keep your paper log updated for the librarian.

Do I have to log reading and activities online?
No. If you want to go screen-free, just use the paper logs you received with your welcome bag and bring them to the library to keep the librarian updated of your reading time and activities completed.

Is there an app for Beanstack I can use on my smart phone or tablet?
Yes, there is! Click here to download.
